Christopher M. Keane is Director of Technology and Communications for the American Geological Institute (AGI), headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. His educational background includes a B.S. in Geology in 1992 and a Ph.D. in Marine, Estuarine, and Environmental Science in 1997 with both degrees being from the University of Maryland. He began his career with the Institute in 1997, initially as a Research Associate and advancing t o his current position in 2 000. His duties w ere expanded in 2004 when he also become the Editor for Geotimes, the Institute's monthly geo-news magazine, and editor for the Institute's annual Directory of Geoscience Departments. He has also serves as co-author for Earthlnquiry, an expanding series of geoscience exercise modules published through W.H. Freeman and Company.
He currently lives in Germantown, Maryland.
