Peggy BlumenthalPeggy Blumenthal, Vice President for Educational Services at the Institute of International Education, supervises IIE’s research activities, corporate and foundation-funded scholarships and training activities, International Human Rights Internship Program, Global Engineering Educational Exchange Consortium, and IIE support activities to the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program. She joined IIE in 1984 as Assistant Director of Program Development, becoming a Vice President in 1987. Previous work in international education included three years as Assistant Director of Stanford University's Overseas Studies and two years as Coordinator of Graduate Services/Fellowships for the University of Hawaii's Center for Asian and Pacific Studies. Ms. Blumenthal has been actively involved in the development of U.S.-China exchanges, as a staff member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and the Asia Society's China Council. Ms. Blumenthal received her B.A. in Modern Chinese History from Harvard University and her M.A. in American Studies from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. |
