Secretary Rice Travel to Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain, April 20-22, 2008
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled to Iraq on April 20 to meet with U.S. embassy and military officials and Iraqi leadership. She then went to Bahrain to participate in an April 21 meeting of foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Egypt and Jordan. She will then go to Kuwait to participate in an Expanded Neighbors of Iraq Ministerial on April 22. [more on the Secretary's trip]
President Bush Meets With King of Bahrain

U.S.-Bahraini Memorandum of Understanding on Nuclear Energy Cooperation (3/24)
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheik Khalid signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Nuclear Energy Cooperation. As President Bush and Secretary Rice have stated on several occasions, nuclear power will be an increasingly important clean energy source throughout the world as states strive to meet growing energy needs while at the same time controlling greenhouse gas emissions. President Bush to Welcome King Hamad of Bahrain to White House (3/20)
The President will welcome King Hamad of Bahrain to the White House on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. The President looks forward to continuing the discussions begun during his visit to Bahrain in January and covering both the bilateral relationship between the United States and Bahrain, and regional issues. Following his meeting with King Hamad, the President will host the King at a working lunch. |
