Secretary of State Condoleezza Travel to Europe and the Middle East 
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled to the United Kingdom, Israel, and the West Bank from May 1 to May 5. In Israel and the West Bank, she met with senior Israeli and Palestinian officials to discuss progress made on the ground and in the peace process, the situation in Gaza, and the effort underway to achieve agreement this year on the establishment of a Palestinian state, living side by side with Israel in peace and security.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled to Jerusalem and Jordan on March 28-31, 2008. She met with Israeli and Palestinian leaders to support their ongoing bilateral dialogue and the serious effort underway to achieve agreement this year on the establishment of a Palestinian state, living side by side with Israel in peace and security. Condolences on Attack against Rabbinical Students 
Secretary Rice (Mar. 6):
"I spoke with Foreign Minister Livni to express my condolences to the people of Israel and the families of the victims of the attack tonight against rabbinical students at the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem. We hold all citizens of Israel in our thoughts and prayers in this tragic hour. We wish a full and rapid recovery to all those injured.

The United States condemns tonight's act of terror and depravity. This barbarous act has no place among civilized peoples and shocks the conscience of all peace loving nations. There is no cause that could ever justify this action."

Secretary Rice Travel to the Middle East, Europe
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice traveled to Egypt, Israel, the Palestinian territories and Brussels March 3-7, 2008. Secretary Rice traveled to Egypt to discuss peace process negotiations and the situation in Gaza with government representatives. She met with Israeli and Palestinian leaders to support their ongoing bilateral dialogue and the serious effort underway to achieve agreement this year on the establishment of a Palestinian state, living side by side with Israel in peace and security.
