Dickinson College Invites Tunisian Back

Released by the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs
January 2, 2004

Ouafa Derouiche, one of two Tunisian "Young Ambassadors" participated in MEPI's 2003 "Young Ambassadors" Institute: Study of the U.S. program at Dickinson College, administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Ms. Derouiche has been invited back to pursue her thesis topic--a comparison of the legal status of women in the U.S. and Tunisia. Dickinson waived tuition fees so she could conduct research on this topic with Dickinson faculty. Ouafa will self-fund her travel/room and board, and will travel to the U.S. in early 2004.
