The January 2008 report is submitted pursuant to U.S. Policy in Iraq Act, Section 1227(c) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2006 (PL 109-163). The report covers current military, diplomatic, political, and economic measures that are being or have been undertaken to complete our mission in Iraq successfully.
