Deputy Secretary Armitage's Travel to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India

Deputy Secretary Armitage traveled May 5th to 11th to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. The U.S. has a strong and continuing interest in our relationships with South Asian countries and in promoting peace and stability in the region. Deputy Secretary Armitage will travel to further those goals.

In South Asia, he had discussions with senior officials in each country. He met with embassy staff and  continued to express the U.S. strong interest in strong relationships with the South Asian countries and do what the U.S. can to promote peace and stability in the region.
