Relations between the United States and Antigua and Barbuda are friendly and cooperative. The United States has supported the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s efforts to encourage the country’s economic development and to improve its citizens’ security and standard of living. U.S. Assistance to Antigua and Barbuda U.S. assistance to Antigua and Barbuda is primarily channeled through multilateral agencies such as the World Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank, and through the U.S. Agency for International Development office in Bridgetown, Barbados. Antigua and Barbuda also receives U.S. counternarcotics assistance, and it benefits from U.S. military training, exercises, and humanitarian civic assistance construction projects, including through the Caribbean U.S. assistance to Antigua and Barbuda is primarily channeled through multilateral agencies such as the World Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank, and through the U.S. Agency for International Development office in Bridgetown, Barbados. Antigua and Barbuda is a member of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM). This includes 73,350 Pfizer doses. Of the 73,350 vaccine doses, 100% were donated through bilateral agreements. The United States is committed to leading an international and coordinated effort to accelerate access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines to meet global needs. The United States is working with other governments and partners including COVAX, Caricom, and the African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT) to protect communities from COVID-19 and apply lessons from this pandemic to enhance health security now and in the future.
