U.S. Embassy closed on Thursday, September 30, 2010
As Tropical Storm Nicole remains a threat to Jamaica, the U.S. Embassy will be closed on September 30.

CONSULAR SERVICES:
American Citizens with appointments for passport/citizenship services should write to KingstonACS@state.gov for rescheduling. For emergencies involving U.S. citizens, please contact the embassy’s after hours number (876) 702-6000.

Non-immigrant and immigrant visa applicants who were scheduled for visa appointments on September 30 should contact the Call Center and reschedule their appointments. The Call Center has been notified of the situation and will do its best to accommodate requests for rescheduling interviews with those previously scheduled for September 29 and 30 receiving priority rescheduling. Applicants may call Monday through Friday, 0800 hours to 1800 hours, except Jamaican or U.S. holidays.

Immigrant Visa Applicants with appointments originally scheduled for September 30 will be contacted by phone regarding a new appointment date. However, if they are unable to keep the date that is reassigned to them, they may discuss the matter with the Visa Assistant at the time of contact. If they have any further queries, they may contact the Consular Section by email at kingstonivinfo@state.gov.
