
Mr. Hook was appointed by President Bush in 2004 as Special Assistant to the President for Policy, Office of the Chief of Staff, where he helped to develop and coordinate policy with the Homeland Security Council, the Domestic Policy Council, and the Council on Environmental Quality. Mr. Hook previously served as Counsel in the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice from 2003-2004.
Before joining the Bush Administration, Mr. Hook practiced law at Hogan and Hartson in Washington, DC (1999-2003). He also served as Deputy Legislative Liaison for Governor Terry E. Branstad of Iowa, and as a Legislative Aide to Congressman James A. Leach.
Mr. Hook earned a law degree from the University of Iowa; a master?s degree in Philosophy from Boston College; and a bachelor?s degree in Marketing from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
