
Anton Smith has been the Deputy Chief Of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea since the departure of Ambassador Donald Johnson.
Anton K. Smith began his career with the U.S. Department of State in 1994, assuming the position of Economic Officer. He served abroad in Mexico, Germany, Macedonia and Iraq, prior to his assignment as Deputy Chief of Mission in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. He has also had staff assignments with the Senate Banking Committee and as a Senior Watch Officer in the Secretary’s Operations Center. He holds a B.A in English from Henderson State University in his home state of Arkansas, as well as Master’s degrees from Georgetown University and the U.S. Army War College.
