U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Sue K. Brown had the honor to present her credentials to the President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic on Thursday, May 12, 2011. Ambassador Brown was previously sworn in as Ambassador to Montenegro in a ceremony at the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C. on April 27, 2011.
Ambassador Brown is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister Counselor. A native of Texas, she joined the U.S. Foreign Service in 1980. She has served since 2009 as Office Director for Southern African Affairs in the Bureau of African Affairs in the U.S. Department of State. Previously, Ambassador Brown served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassies in Accra, Ghana and Asmara, Eritrea. Her other overseas postings include Indonesia, France, Liberia, Kenya, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire.
