Janey Wright joined the Policy Planning Staff in May 2009. Her portfolio covers counterterrorism and the use of economic pressure strategies, focusing on illicit activities, sanctions, and threat finance. She previously served as Chief of Staff in the Verification, Compliance, and Implementation Bureau for over six years. From 1993-1999, she served in the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency focusing on verification. Prior to that, she served ten years on the House Foreign Affairs Committee staff, responsible for arms control and international security issues.
