Jeremy Shapiro’s portfolio covers North Africa and the Levant. Previously, Mr. Shapiro was the Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian affairs. Prior to joining the Department, he was the Research Director of the Center of the United States and Europe (CUSE) at the Brookings Institution and a Fellow in foreign policy studies. He was also a non-resident Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations and an adjunct professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. He graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Computer Science and received his M.A. in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
