Edward Kaska joined the Trade Policy and Programs division as Director for Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Textile Trade Affairs in August 2010. He supervises two divisions which work on agricultural trade issues and new technologies that promote sustainable agriculture. Prior to this assignment, he served as Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine. Mr. Kaska has also served overseas in London, United Kingdom; Prague, Czech Republic; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His service in Washington has included work as the Director of the State Department’s Office of Current Intelligence and as Deputy Director of the Foreign Service Institute’s Economic Studies Division. Mr. Kaska also served at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative as Director for European Agriculture and Services. Mr. Kaska graduated from the University of Texas with degrees in Economics and Law. He also has earned a Post-Graduate Diploma in European Community Law from King’s College London and a Master of International Business Law from the University of London.
