Mike Fuchs is Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Strategy and Multilateral Affairs in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. From 2009-2013, he served as Special Advisor to the Secretary of State for Strategic Dialogues, Special Assistant to the Secretary of State, and Member of the Secretary's Policy Planning Staff.
Previously, Mike has held positions as Associate Managing Director for Energy and Environmental Policy at the Center for American Progress, Deputy National Security Director for Hillary Clinton's 2008 Presidential campaign, Co-Director of the Democracy and U.S. Foreign Policy Project at The Century Foundation, and as a foreign policy research associate at the Center for American Progress. He is co-author, with Morton H. Halperin, of the book "The Survival and the Success of Liberty: A Democracy Agenda for U.S. Foreign Policy." Mike is a graduate of Columbia University.
