Anika Binnendijk covers a range of Middle East issues for the State Department’s Policy Planning Staff.
She joined S/P from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where she was a special assistant and policy advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, and later the Country Director for Egypt. Dr Binnendijk received her undergraduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and her Masters and Ph.D. from the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
