Ms. DeBlauw serves as the Director for the Office of Policy, Partnerships, and Outreach, which manages strategic planning, writes policy papers for the front office, acts as IIP’s liaison to Congress and the federal judiciary, as well as coordinates internal and external communications strategies for the bureau as a whole.
Ms. DeBlauw is a Senior Foreign Service Officer and has served in management, political, and consular positions at the U.S. Embassies in Madrid, Ankara, La Paz, Lisbon, Lome, the U.S. Mission to the European Union, and Consulate Nuevo Laredo. During recent assignments, Kim served on the board of the Turkish-American Association, organized several college fairs and participated in various mission speaker programs. Kim’s domestic assignments include Executive Director for the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, post management officer for the Bureau of European Affairs, and desk officer in the Bureau of International Organizations. Prior to joining the Department of State, Ms. DeBlauw worked for Chemonics International and the Pan American Health Organization.
Ms. DeBlauw has a B.S. from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Ms. DeBlauw speaks fluent Spanish and has studied French, Portuguese and Turkish.
