Daniel Rochman is the acting Deputy Coordinator for Regional and Multilateral Affairs, overseeing the Counterterrorism Bureau’s Office of Africa, Europe, and Americas Affairs, the Office of Asian and Near East Affairs, and the Office of Multilateral Affairs. He joined the Bureau in August 2012 and served as the Director of the Office of Asian and Near East Affairs until February 2014.
Prior to joining the CT Bureau, Mr. Rochman served overseas in Jakarta, Nagoya, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Seoul, and in the State Department in the Bureaus of European Affairs and East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
Mr. Rochman was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He received a Master of Arts Degree in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from the University of Michigan. He speaks Japanese, Indonesian, and Thai.
