Assistant Secretary Brimmer welcomes Staffan de Mistura, incoming Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan and head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). Dr. Brimmer expressed appreciation for the essential work that the UN conducts for the Afghan people. The two discussed plans for future coordination and communication.
