On September 14, 2010, Assistant Secretary Brimmer appeared with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright at an event designed to frame the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly. The event, hosted by the State Department’s Office of the Chief of Protocol, took place at Blair House in Washington. At the event, Secretary Albright, who also previously served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, talked about her experiences at the UN. Assistant Secretary Brimmer complemented those remarks by discussing the Administration’s current effort to expand and strengthen U.S. engagement across the spectrum of international organizations, including the UN.
