Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs Maria Otero traveled to Costa Rica, Guatemala and Honduras from November 28-December 2 to discuss democracy and human rights, citizen security, and youth issues. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Todd Robinson will accompany Under Secretary Otero for the Costa Rica and Guatemala stops of her trip.
During her visit to Costa Rica, Under Secretary Otero engaged with senior government officials and civil society representatives to discuss bilateral cooperation on citizen security, trafficking in persons, and human rights.
