Pearl Garcia Drew is a Filipino-American who has been employed as an office management specialist since 2002. Both of her parents were Filipino. Her mother was born in the Philippines and her father was born in Hawaii. Pearl and siblings were all born and raised in California.
Pearl's husband's agricultural expertise has taken them around the world since 1987. They worked as contractors in Maseru, Lesotho and in Kampala, Uganda before Pearl joined the State Department in 2002. Posted in Kampala for her first two assignments, Pearl then served at Embassy Dar es Salaam for six years before returning to Kampala for two more assignments. She is serving on her final tour, working for the Deputy Chief of Mission, and will be retiring with her husband to Maui in December 2014.
