Kabul, Afghanistan
February 23, 2008

In late February, Robert O’Brien, Co-chair of the Public-Private Partnership for Justice Reform in Afghanistan, and Judge David Carter, U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, traveled to Afghanistan to survey first-hand the needs of the Afghan justice system. During the assessment visit, Mr. O’Brien and Judge Carter met with the Attorney General, the Chief Justice, the Afghan Criminal Justice Task Force, women members of the judiciary, the Legal Aid Organization of Afghanistan, and the Afghan Prosecutors Association.
