U.S. Department of State Contractors Receive Joint Military Commission Service Medals for Landmine Clearance in South SudanSouth Sudan March 18, 2005 The RONCO Consulting Corporation demining group that was honored by the Joint Military Commission (JMC) for their contribution to the peace mission in South Sudan and support to the JMC on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, pose for a photo. Norwegian Brigadier General Jan Erik Wilhelmsen, who serves as the Chairman of the JMC and Head of Mission in South Sudan, presented the medals. Brigadier General Wilhelmsen is visible in the center of the front row (kneeling). The RONCO group consisted of a Chief of Party, Operations Manager, Logistician, two Team Leaders, and three Medics/Drivers. The U.S. Department of State mandates that RONCO Consulting Corporation deminers and deminers from any other organizations that work under its contracts or grants operate to International Mine Action Standards.
