New Internet Access and Training Center Opens in Khashuri, GeorgiaKhashuri, Georgia October 23, 2003 A new Internet Center was opened by the U.S. Government-sponsored Internet Access and Training Program in the Georgian region of Shida-Kartli on October 23, 2003. This center is located in the Khashuri Central Public Library, the site of a future "American Corner." The library director, Ms. Rusudan Enjibadze, visited the U.S. earlier this year on a professional exchange program for library managers, administered by Project Harmony. Representatives of the U.S. Embassy, IATP/IREX, the local government and the Georgian Ministry of Culture attended the opening ceremony. The center offers free internet access and training to interested public and alumni of U.S. Government programs. APAO Wendy Kennedy cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony and gave a congratulatory speech.
