U.S. Embassy Representatives Visit Georgian High Schools

Rustavi, Georgia
April 29, 2004

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi organized visits to high schools in the regions of Georgia with the aim of promoting English language teaching. U.S. Embassy representatives have visited high schools in Rustavi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Sachkhere, Chiatura, and Bolnisi to conduct English language lessons for high school students on variety of topics, among those civic education, debate, American literature, American holidays, and the U.S. education system. As a result of these classes, Georgian students and teachers have a rare opportunity to meet and interact with native English speakers, and the U.S. Embassy establishs new contacts and lays the groundwork for future friendship and cooperation.
