Jazz Ambassadors Roseanna Vitro and her Trio Visit Cyprus

State Department officials overseas help promote peace between local Turkish and Cypriot communities in various ways, including by exposing them to American cultural interests. Jazz Ambassadors Roseanna Vitro and her Trio roused their energy for an audience-packed weekend of jazz events, which featured two public concerts in old Nicosia, a bicommunal master class with professional and burgeoning musicians, two school performances, and a closing show at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence.

Roseanna Vitro and her Trio perform their concert at Selimiye Square.Tim Horner, the group's drummer, gives drumming tips to aspiring musicians.A bicommunal master class was held at Arte College of Music on September 18. Professional as well as student musicians were given the chance to improvise with the ensemble.Roseanna teaches students from 15 schools from Limassol and Paphos how to scat sing.
