The MEPI Sponsored Creating Child Centered Schools Program Working in Oman

Muscat, Oman, January 2005: Children put to use some of the problem-solving skills learned through the Middle East Partnership Initiative [MEPI] sponsored Creating Child Centered Schools Program.Children piecing puzzle together.

Omani children are encouraged to make choices, take responsibility for their decisions, express their ideas with creativity, and respect their classmates' ideas and abilities.Children using building blocks.

Teachers are introduced to new active teaching and learning methods that help Omani children develop critical thinking skills and practice independent thinking. The MEPI-sponsored program also supports community and family in primary schools. Girls seated on floor looking over papers.
