Saluting Asian/Pacific History Month: Elaine Tiang-ChuElaine Tiang-Chu is currently a Desk Officer in the Overseas Branch of the Liaison Division in the Bureau of Information Resources Management. She joined the Foreign Service in 1999 and has served as Information Management Specialist in U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou, P.R.C. and Information Programs Officer in U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong, S.A.R.

Elaine was born in Singapore and attended Pace University in New York City after moving to the U.S. in 1982. She worked as an applications programmer in the then AT&T before joining the Foreign Service. Elaine is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
