Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Iraqi Refugees

January 16, 2007, Washington D.C.: U.S. State Department Assistant Secretary for Population, Refugees, and Migration, Ellen Sauerbrey speaks with U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy before a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Iraqi refugees. Assistant Secretary Sauerbrey noted in her opening remarks at the hearing: “I welcome the opportunity to detail some of the actions the administration is taking to provide protection and assistance for Iraqis in neighboring countries of first asylum and for populations inside Iraq. And I want to assure this committee that this issue is a very top priority for my bureau."
