Alexys Garcia is a Passport Operations Officer in the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Passport Services Directorate, Office of Field Operations. Alexys first joined the Department of State as a student intern at the Miami Passport Agency. Upon graduating, she was offered a full-time Passport Specialist position. In addition to her duties as a Passport Specialist, Alexys was also an active member of the State Department’s social and professional organization Young Professionals Society (YPro), running the first satellite chapter in Miami from 2007-2008. In 2008, Alexys was selected to participate in the USDA Graduate School’s New Leader Program. As part of the program, Alexys was detailed at the Office of Field Operations, Field Coordination Division in Washington D.C. In 2009 she returned as a permanent employee of Field Coordination where she is currently coordinating with domestic field agencies, developing policy, and managing special projects and nationwide initiatives.
Ms. Garcia holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science from Florida International University.
