Hansel Rodriguez is an Office Administrator in the Bureau of Public Affairs’ Office of Public Liaison. Mr. Rodriguez provides administrative support to the Office Director and works in the Public Communication Section, responding to inquiries from the public.
Mr. Rodriguez joined the State Department in February of 2009 as a contractor and transitioned into Civil Service a few months later. Prior to joining the State Department he served four years in the armed forces as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Rodriguez was raised in the Dominican Republic and is fluent in Spanish. He also lived in Cuba and Djibouti during his time in the military.
Of his work at State he says: “I feel privileged working at State. The fact that our work has a global impact makes this job very rewarding.”
