Liliane Verlage Hudspeth is currently a Vice Consul at the U.S. Interests Section in Havana, Cuba.
Mrs. Hudspeth first joined the State Department as an intern in the Office of Economic Policy and Summit Coordination Office under the Western Hemisphere Affairs Bureau during the spring of 2006. She then joined as a Foreign Service Officer in September 2006 and is a member of the 131st A-100 class. Mrs. Hudspeth completed her first tour in early 2009, having served two years in Caracas, Venezuela.
Prior to joining the State Department she worked for a private consulting company.
Mrs. Hudspeth was born in Tampico, Mexico and moved to McAllen, Texas when she was eight years old. She holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.
Her favorite aspect of the Foreign Service is having the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures. She speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
