Claudia Lizbeth Valladolid serves as the policy staff assistant in the Office of the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs and is based in Washington, DC. In that capacity she manages the Fund for Innovation in Public Diplomacy, working with embassies worldwide to promote public diplomacy projects. She joined the State Department in January 2012.
Claudia received her BA in international relations and communications from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. She then attended Syracuse University as a McNair Scholar and earned two master’s degrees in international relations and public relations with a focus on public diplomacy.
Prior to working at the State Department, Claudia interned for the United Nations at the International Telecommunication Union in Geneva, Switzerland. A native of Texas, her parents are originally from Jalisco and Zacatecas, Mexico.
