This year alone, the Colombian Antinarcotics Police has interdicted 49.8MT of cocaine, 203 kilos of heroin and 59 MT of marijuana, and the Colombian Navy has interdicted 61 MT of cocaine. Successful interdiction keeps tons of dangerous drugs from ever reaching market and contributes to the trend of declining purity and increasing prices on American streets. The Narcotics Affairs Section (NAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Bogota has helped build the Colombian Antinarcotics Police and Colombian Navy’s capacity for this work, most recently with this donation of vehicles.
