Date: 06/05/2013 Description: 2013 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month: Kerry Neal - State Dept Image Mr. Kerry Neal serves as Grants Division Director and Chief serving both the Bureaus of Educational and Cultural Affairs and International Information Programs. As one of the largest grants operations divisions within the Department of State, Kerry is responsible for the broad operational oversight and managerial direction/guidance of financial assistance to a wide variety of bureau grant recipients. Prior to joining ECA-IIP, Kerry served as senior policy officer at the Department of Homeland Security, Division of Financial Assistance Policy and Oversight; and, as senior financial compliance analyst (CMIA) at the Department of the Treasury. Additionally, following law school, Kerry served as a principal in a local private practice law firm.

As a native of Brooklyn, NY, Kerry attended the Harvey Milk School - founded in 1985 and thought to be the first LGBT school of its kind in the nation. Additionally, he holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law; a master of arts from the Graduate School of Business at Marymount; and, a bachelor of science in business administration from Long Island University, Southampton College. Kerry is an attorney admitted to the Maryland and DC bars and is a sustaining member of GayLAW. In his free time he sings/volunteers with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (having just completed his 12th season as singing/supporting member).
