Under Secretary Karen Hughes traveled to Indonesia and Malaysia from October 20-24, 2005. She visited Jakarta, Aceh, and Kuala Lumpur. During her trip, Under Secretary Hughes met with students, non-governmental organizations, senior government officials and attended several Iftaar dinners to hear their views and to discuss common interests and challenges. She also viewed reconstruction efforts in Aceh.
