Ralan L. Hill has the honor to work as a watch officer in the Operations Center. Prior to joining Ops he served as a political officer in Asuncion, Paraguay from 2009-2011 and as a vice consul in Kolkata, India from 2006-2008. He joined the Foreign Service in June 2006.
Previously, Mr. Hill served as an engineer officer in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea with the 2nd Infantry Division and in Germany with the 9th Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. While assigned in Germany, Mr. Hill deployed to Kosovo in 2002 for six months as part of the NATO-run Kosovo Force (KFOR 4A) and to Forward Operating Base Remagan, near Tikrit, Iraq, for one year from 2004-2005 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF II).
Mr. Hill received his bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Tufts University, where he also majored in history. He completed a master’s in humanities (history) from California State University – Dominguez Hills in 2006.
