Jarvis
Mr. Jarvis served in the United States Air Force in the early 1970s as a weapons systems officer flying the F-4 “Phantom II” fighter-bomber. During two tours of duty in Southeast Asia, in 1971 and ’72, then-Captain Jarvis was assigned to the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing at Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base. He flew a total of 300 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on seven separate occasions. He also earned 23 Air Medals and shared the Presidential Unit Citation with his 8th TFW colleagues.
Mr. Jarvis, a Foreign Service officer from 1985 to 2007, has been posted to Kuwait, Chile, Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt, and Iraq. He is presently assigned , as a foreign affairs officer, to the Department’s Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation.
