F. David Diaz is a foreign affairs officer in the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, U.S. Department of State. He serves as Deputy Director of the U.S. Government’s Interagency Task Force on man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), overseeing USG efforts to reduce global threats from illicit proliferation of these weapons to terrorists and insurgents. Mr. Diaz works with a broad range of interagency and international partners, coordinating programs, and developing policy to reduce illicit proliferation. Mr. Diaz has previously served at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. He is a former U.S. Marine Corps Officer and holds a master of arts in international relations from Boston University.
