Christine DeSilva joined the Department in 1987 as a clerk-typist. Over the course of her career she has worked for the bureaus of Consular Affairs, Human Resources, African Affairs, Information Resources, Western Hemisphere Affairs, and Administration.
Recently converted to a human resource officer in the Foreign Service, she has served as the Department’s Incentive Awards Coordinator, a management and program analyst, Deputy Consul General, Chief of the Non-Immigrant Visa and the American Citizen Services Units in Trinidad & Tobago, EEO counselor, employee relations specialist, position classifier and staffing specialist.
Ms. DeSilva is a native Washingtonian raised in Prince George’s County and a 2001 graduate of Lincoln University with a master’s degree in human services.
