DEPUTY SECRETARY JACK LEW AND USAID ADMINISTRATOR RAJ SHAH
Deputy Secretary Lew and USAID Administrator Shah are traveling to Pakistan and Afghanistan on separate, but coordinated trips. This is Dr. Shah’s first trip to the region as USAID Administrator. They will assess staffing and budget resources, review civilian and security assistance programs, and efforts to promote governance and economic reform.

Assistant Secretary Valenzuela travels the week of April 5 to Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru. He concludes his trip in Peru, where he will meet with high level government officials, political and economic analysts, and examine the Peruvian government’s comprehensive approach to confronting drug trafficking. Assistant Secretary Carson is traveling to France, the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kinshasa), and the United Kingdom from April 8 to April 19.
