UNDER SECRETARY FOR DEMOCRACY AND GLOBAL AFFAIRS MARIA OTERO:
Under Secretary Otero travels to Egypt, Jordan, Israel and the West Bank through April 21.  Her trip focuses on discussing water issues with interlocutors from the region.  She is meeting with government officials, non-governmental organizations, and youth leaders about technological and policy-based solutions towards overcoming challenges in this sector.  For more information, click here.


ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR AFRICAN AFFAIRS JOHNNIE CARSON

AMBASSADOR-AT-LARGE FOR GLOBAL WOMEN’S ISSUES MELANNE VERVEER:
Ambassador Verveer travels to Lithuania, Russia and Egypt through April 23. She is meeting with senior government officials and NGO leaders to discuss progress towards achieving women’s empowerment in the political, social and economic arenas, combating gender-based violence and improving maternal health.
