Deputy Secretary Jacob Lew is in Mali and travels later today to Nigeria, before proceeding to Paris later this week for a Ministerial-level conference of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. In Mali (May 23-24), the Deputy Secretary, accompanied by Global AIDs coordinator Ambassador Eric Goosby, visits a National Institute of Health-supported laboratory and a USAID-supported health clinic, meets with Malians who have studied in the United States, participates in the closing ceremony of the Flintlock 10 military partners exercise and meets with President Amadou Toumani Toure.
