ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR POPULATION, REFUGEES AND MIGRATION ERIC SCHWARTZ:
Assistant Secretary Schwartz travels to Australia, Thailand and Laos through June 18.  In Australia through June 9, Assistant Secretary Schwartz is meeting with Australian Deputy Secretary Gillian, Australian Secretary of Immigration Andrew Metcalfe and other senior officials. He is also representing the U.S. at the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Donor Support Group High Level Meeting.

In Thailand and Laos, Mr. Schwartz will meet with government officials and international organizations implementing assistance programs in the region.

Ambassador Simons is traveling to four localities in the earthquake-affected zone south of Santiago, Chile to visit joint Department of State and Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance Projects (HAP).  Ambassador Simons is visiting the Chilean-North American Cultural Institute, in the heavily-damaged municipality of Curicó, and is announcing over $400,000 in grants to Chilean Binational Centers in the aftermath of the February 27 earthquake. For more information, contact WatzlavickPS@state.gov
