Assistant Secretary Schwartz is in Thailand through June 12.  He is meeting with Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Theerakun Niyom, National Security Council Secretary-General Tawin Pleansri, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Interior Kwanchai Wongnitikorn and other senior international officials to coordinate on a protection strategy for vulnerable populations in Thailand. He is also visiting the Thai-Burma border to address refugee protection, assistance and resettlement issues.
