Mexico: Issue of Transit Visas

Question: Has the United States Government received any formal diplomatic protest from the Mexican Government concerning the issue of transit visas for Mexican officials?

Answer: The Mexican Government has not sent a formal protest. However, the Mexican Congressman transiting Los Angeles on June 22 has contacted the United States Embassy in Mexico City seeking clarification of the transit incident in which he was involved. Any further questions should be directed to the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
