| Notice to the Press Office of the Spokesman Washington, DC June 3, 2002 Trafficking in Persons Report: Special Briefing and Report Rollout for June 5Secretary of State Colin L. Powell will deliver remarks on the release of the State Department’s 2002 Trafficking in Persons Report to Congress on Wednesday morning, June 5, at 11:00 a.m. After the Secretary’s opening remarks, Ambassador Nancy Ely-Raphel, Senior Adviser to the Secretary, Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, will provide introductory remarks on the report and respond to reporters’ questions. This event is on camera and on the record, and will be held in the State Department’s press briefing room (room 2209). Advance Copies of the Embargoed Report Embargoed copies of the report on CD-ROM will be available on Wednesday, June 5 at 9:00 a.m. in the State Department’s Press Office (Room 2109). A limited number of printed reports also will be available. The entire report is EMBARGOED until the conclusion of the press briefing, approximately 12:00 p.m., June 5. The report is available on a first-come, first-served basis, one copy per media organization, and must be collected in person from Room 2109. Copies will NOT be reserved, mailed, faxed, or delivered to a building entrance. Press wishing to attend this briefing should arrive at the 23rd Street entrance (between C and D Streets, NW) and must present either (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card or (3) letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport). Press should allow adequate time to process through security and plan to be in the briefing room 15 minutes before the briefing.
