Taiwan - Visit of Madame Wu Shu-chen

Question:  Will/have any Administration official(s) meet/met with Taiwan's First Lady, Madame Wu Shu-chen?  If so, does this reflect a change in U.S. policy toward Taiwan?

Answer:  Under Secretary for International Security Affairs John Bolton attended a reception this afternoon at the American Enterprise Institute in honor of Madame Wu.

The two had a brief private conversation.

U.S. policy toward Taiwan has not changed.
